Netgear N1200C router setup: Netgear router configuration through Netgear Genie

For configuring a cable internet connection with a NETGEAR router – Netgear router setup which uses the Smart Wizard user interface, follow the following steps:

  1. Start by connecting your modem to the internet port of your Netgear router as well as connecting your computer to any of the Netgear router’s four LAN ports.
  2. Turn your computer, Netgear router, and broadband/cable modem, first off and then on again. Allow all of them to finish booting up.
  3. Open a web browser and type the Netgear router IP which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  4. You can also access your Netgear router login page through net or routerlogin.net by typing the web address in the web browser.
  5. You are prompted to Netgear router login through Netgear router login page by using default Netgear router username and Netgear router login password details.
  6. The default Netgear router username is admin and the default Netgear router password is password to access the Netgear admin page.
    Note: The Netgear router default username and password are case-sensitive.
  7. A Netgear router admin page appears where you need to click on Setup Wizard.
  8. The Netgear router Setup Wizard screen will display.
  9. Select yes and then click on Next. The Netgear router Setup Wizard will then automatically detect the type of internet connection.
    Note: For cable internet connections on Netgear router, the Netgear router Setup Wizard will detect Dynamic IP.
  10. Click on Next and the Netgear router saves the Netgear router configuration settings.

Netgear N1200C router setup: Netgear router configuration through Netgear Genie

Netgear GenieIf your Netgear router uses Netgear genie user interface, you can follow Netgear router configuration for cable internet connection through NETGEAR genie. Follow the steps below for Netgear router setup/Netgear router configuration.

  1. Unplug both your cable/broadband modem and Netgear router power cords connected to a power source.
    Note: If there is any back-up battery on your modem, you will need to remove it temporarily.
  2. Establish connections between your Netgear router, modem and computer. For connecting modem to the Netgear router, use an Ethernet cable from the modem to the Internet port of your Netgear router (yellow cable). For connecting Netgear router to computer, also use a grey Ethernet cable from the computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the Netgear router.
  3. Re-insert the back-up battery (if there is any) in your modem and reconnect the modem to power source. Wait for all the Netgear router lights to become stable.
  4. Turn your computer, Netgear router, and broadband/cable modem, first off and then on again. Allow all of them to finish booting up and wait for the Netgear router power light to become solid green.
  5. Open a web browser and type the Netgear router IP which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  6. You can also access your Netgear router login page through routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com by typing the web address in the web browser.
  7. You are prompted to Netgear router login through Netgear router login page by using default Netgear router username and Netgear router login password details.
  8. The default Netgear router username is admin and the default Netgear router password is password to access the Netgear admin page.
    Note: The Netgear router default username and password are case-sensitive.
  9. Netgear Genie displays, Click on the Advanced on Netgear Genie and select Setup Wizard from the given options.
  10. Select yes and then click on Next. The Netgear router Setup Wizard will then automatically detect the type of internet connection.
  11. Your Netgear N1200C router has been set.

N1200C Netgear router login

To log in to your Netgear N1200C router and access the Netgear router settings:

  1. Launch a web browser from your computer or mobile device which is connected to the network of your Netgear router.
  2. Type the Netgear router IP which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. You can also access your Netgear router login page through routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com by typing the web address in the web browser.
  4. Press Enter or click on Search to access the Netgear router login page.
  5. You are prompted to Netgear router login through Netgear router login page by using default Netgear router username and Netgear router login password details.
  6. The default Netgear router username is admin and the default Netgear router password is password to access the Netgear admin page.
    Note: The Netgear router default username and password are case-sensitive.
  7. Click on OK or Log In to access the Netgear router admin page.
  8. The BASIC Home screen is displayed from where you can configure Netgear router settings and Netgear router features.
